When organizing a place to hang your logo, even a small desk area in the corner of your kitchen or a spare bedroom in your home, it’s important to create a space that reflects your personal style. Yes, it’s key to have a well-organized and well-functioning workspace, but it’s equally as important to have a cheerful and inspiring environment that doesn’t need to be expensive to get the job done.
For Mom Organizing Moms, LLC, it’s 155 square feet accented with our favorite color: blush pink! It was necessary for our space to accommodate up to four employees and also be flexible to host client meetings. Our strategy: two workstations located on opposite ends of the space and a round conference table in the center. This space plan allows plenty of room to work independently or collaboratively with our team or with our clients.
Once the workstations were solidified, we set out to bring in feminine elements to give our office balance and style. Since we already had desk chairs, we wanted to give our center conference table a punch of color and whimsy. The baby section of Fabric House had the perfect pink polka dot fabric to recover two side chairs we purchased at Pier 1 Imports. Tammy loves contrasting trim, so these chairs received a pop of their own with lavender velvet piping and center button.
Next, we found two faux mercury glass lamps with beige drum shades marked down at SteinMart. Tammy was immediately drawn to a light pink and gray damask linen fabric used to recover the shades and trim with lavender velvet embellished with translucent beads.
The large window is wonderful to bring in a lot of natural light, but it needed to be softened. Our remedy: a gray valance with graphic pattern accented with ribbon trim.
There was absolutely no question when we decided to showcase our company logo as a focal point on the wall. Signs Now Nashville was able to enlarge from a digital file and mount on foam board. For inspiration, we added artwork on the opposite wall that reflects the core values of our company. Each piece was printed on copy paper and framed using Michael’s ready-made matted frames priced two for one. As we all know, it’s important to publicly display city, county and state documents, so we used inexpensive acrylic box frames also found at Michaels that we had hung in a grid pattern behind our office door.
Office equipment is necessary, but some pieces can be unattractive and cumbersome. We were able to find affordable streamlined components at Office Depot. Each piece has its space atop our white filing cabinets purchased at The Container Store. We keep our documents organized using The Container Store’s sturdy white tri-cut folders and white hanging files that hold up to daily use.
The Container Store was also a great resource for locating simple acrylic desk accessories and our acrylic wrap station. We even ‘momogrammed’ our tissue box! Finally, The Dotted Line brought to life our vision for our business cards and scalloped edge notecards, both accented with a bit of shimmer.
